Dedicated to raising healthy, well socialized companions with excellent temperament and structure.

Located in Eatonton, Georgia, Saint Lazar is a small, dedicated hobby kennel focused on the preservation and improvement of the Manchester Terrier. Saint Lazar has produced over 300 AKC Champions. Our dogs are raised in a clean, caring environment and are part of our daily lives.

We occasionally have puppies available to approved homes. If none are available, We welcome inquiries for our waiting list.

Aimee loves to pose, all I have to do is speak to her and she sets herself like she's at a dog show. Hmmm!  (Above text is incorrect, should have been 5/7/26)

Esther (R) Has Retired - Available

Esther has been a great "house" dog, smart as a whip, 95% house broke, slept with us most of the time. She had excellent puppies, JJ below, and Aimee above are hers and Solo's. She should have 8 to 9 years more life based on normal life span. She is available to the right home for a very modest fee.

Saint Lazar's JJ (JayJay) - Available

JJ is on the left above, with his Sire, Solo on the right. Saint Lazar's JJ was born 6/9/25 to Saint Lazar's Esther & Saint Lazar's Solo II. He is a bit on the smaller side, but perfect as a "lap dog". He is super smart, marked perfectly, comes when I call him, and a first class snuggler. He has been raised in the house and is about 95% housebroken. This is the one of the downsides of keeping one in the house knowing that eventually he will need to go to a good home. I would love for this super little guy go to a home that is familiar with Manchester's. His price is $2500. Call Charlie 404-861-7714

Standard Manchester - Saint Lazar's Solo II

Once in a great while, we produce a "Standard" Manchester, over 12 lbs is a Standard for show purposes. This depends on who I am breeding, genetically. Solo was a surprise because his Dam did not have regular heat cycles, and then it was difficult to tell that she was in heat. Non the less, Saint Lazar has produced Best In Show Standards in the past, which is a testimony to the efficacy of our breeding program. I still maintain that Saint Lazar is the only Manchester Breeder on Planet Earth that has a breeding program, I have yet to be challenged. Thank you LORD! Photo 3/28/26

The first time in the ring for Saint Lazar's Ella, and her co-owner, Kathy Cicalese, Dunellon, FL. This super pair went Best Of Winners against strong competition, winning "Major" points toward an AKC Championship. 6/15/24

WE HAVE PUPPYS - FINALLY!

Saint Lazar's Naomi new Toy Manchester pups

After quite a while of great frustration, Mia (Naomi) has presented us with four beautiful and healthy pups, 2 girls and 2 boys, Thursday, March 13. Simon is the sire, and he recently won his first points toward an AKC Championship title. Mia is out of our decades long breeding program that produced 311 AKC Champions.

Mia's pups at one week old, they have doubled in size. Manchester females are great mothers, I have rarely had a problem in well over 50 years. Mia obviously has great milk, as witnessed in the above photos.

WOW! BIG SURPRISE(?)

IMG_2751.jpg

The little fellow above on my desk, is pictured about a half hour after finding him in the kennel with his mother "Seri", who has had a issue with keeping normal weight. The Vet has been seeing Seri regularly but has not found any illness. The past several months I have increased her food, and she did get a modest weight gain. She remains very energetic. On July 24th I was putting Seri and several of our other dogs back in their kennel runs when Seri and Frenchie got into a big scrap inside the kennel in Seri's and Nickolas's crate. I rushed in the kennel, pulled the crate out from the doggie door, and dumped them out. As I was separating them, I saw the above little guy lying on the blanket. I was stunned, even though Seri had "thickened" up a bit, I never dreamed she was pregnant. I certainly was not sure she had even had a heat cycle, as she is one who does not clearly manifest the usual signs. No wonder they were going at it, Seri was protecting her puppy.

I am writing this on Monday morning, August 26th, and "Solo" (above) is growing and thriving great. Seri did not produce much milk, so we transitioned Solo to goat milk, and then a slurry of dry dog food and goat milk. His ears are erect, and he has taken over our household and hearts. I am going to post a separate web page devoted to this little fellow so those interested can follow his progress. Oh, his best buddy is Baxter, the Shih Tzu, who is always awesome with our pups.

The above images were taken Thursday, 7/20, around 8 AM. The pups are sleeping while Mama is outside taking care of business. Seconds after putting her back in with them, they are back nursing. I expect their eyes to open anytime now, and then they really get active. We usually hear little "woofs" or barks around 3 weeks of age. As I have stated many times before, i nerver tire of having Manchester puppies. Thank you LORD!

Relaxing with Toy Manchester's

Manchester's have it really rough at Saint Lazar. Photo above was taken with my iPhone 13 as we sat at our dining room table Saturday night, 7/24/23. Our long time friends, Tobby and Ginger Jones, who purchased Jillian from us in 2000, came down from Charlotte, NC for a visit. We were playing "Phase 10" card game, when Lydia had to be picked up by my sister in law, Tammy Foucher. Husband, Gerry, is dealing. Linda Blount, Carol's sister and our neighbor, is playing too. This game went on until 2:30 AM Sunday morning. Hard to get up and get to Church on time, but we did. Esther, Baxter, and Smitty, were content to sleep on the sofas while we played. Lydia stays with Tammy and Gerry, who live adjacent to us. Lydia is loved by us all, and she knows it.

Toy Manchester relaxing

Lydia bred to Aden, produced this very handsome, and totally "correct" show quality male, Saint Lazar's Bartholomew, on 8/17/22. His brother, every bit his equal, went to a wonderful home in Las Vegas, six days ago. This image was taken on 8/5, a very hot day in the 90's, and he is resting in the shade of one of huge pecan trees. The other dogs were resting nearby. Bart is affectionate to the extreme (almost) and I have to give him plenty of attention. He is missing his brother Obe, and I am thinking of maybe putting Emme's girl that I am keeping, with him. She is 7 months old, and smaller than Bart, but I think they may get along fine together. Most everyone is free in our very large exercise area, so they really only need to sleep together. Pairing male and female in a run has worked quite well for going on 30 years. Saint Lazar is still producing the finest quality Toy Manchester's on Planet Earth, and this is due to the Grace of GOD.

ESTHER-ADEN PUPS CAME 8-5-22 AT 12:45 AM TO 4 AM "YAWN" - 3 BIG BOYS

Esther-Aden 2 boys Toy Manchester's 8-3-22

Esther delivered her pups beside Carol and I on the sofa while we were watching Netflix. Of course, I paused the TV while we assisted. Three boys, the first came breech and I gave him a pretty good tug to help him out. The 2nd came normal, headfirst, but I pulled him too as all these guys are big healthy pups. The 3rd came breech, and I again had to give a good pull once I could reach his feet. I had to learn to do this in the 60's with "Georgia Girl", who was not an easy whelper. The main thing to learn is just how tough they are and how hard you can pull without injury, they can take a lot more than one would think. All were very vigorous and began nursing immediately. See photo below where they are 5 hours old. Nap time for me this afternoon, but there is nothing better than new puppies.

Esther-Aden Toy Manchester Boys 8-5-22

This was taken about 5 hours after their birth. You can easily discern Esther is comfy and relaxed in one of our larger puppy bassinets. It's placed in our great room where we can see each other all the time. She will live here until the pups are ready to wean, usually around 6 weeks of age. Naturally we will take her out for potty time and exercise frequently. She is a "house dog" and normally would be sleeping with us, but she has been through this before, and will be patient until she can snuggle with us again. A typical Saint Lazar mother, smart as a whip, affectionate, she pretty much wants to be the "Alfa dog". However, Seri also thinks she is.

The above image taken 5/2/22 as I sat on the sofa in our new home just starting work on this web site. Seri is in the foreground, an Aden/Frenchy gal, who just turned 1 year old. Behind her is Lydia, whose sire was Zorro from his last litter. They now sleep in the new kennel, but pregnant Esther still sleeps with us.

Our Flag over Saint Lazar Manchester's

Our new home in Eatonton, GA shown on 7/18/23. I Still stay very busy planting shrubs, flowers, grass, etc. I spend a good bit of time taking care of these 30 acres, recently planting shrubs around the new barn shown to the left of the house. The fencing has been completed, and the dogs have about an acre behind the house to roam in good weather. They are free to go into their runs and into the air conditioned kennel to their crate when they wish. We installed the new 30' commercial flag pole on July 3rd, just in time to celebrate the 4th.

New Saint Lazar Manchester Terrier Kennel

The new kennel is painted to match the house and is now housing our boys and girls. It has a washer, dryer, laundry sink, and a hot water heater. The building is foam insulated and stays quite comfortable, even in temperature extremes.

"Without God's blessing I look for no success, and for every success my prayer is, that all the glory may be given unto Him to whom it is properly due. If people would but give all the glory to God and regard his creatures as but unworthy instruments my heart would rejoice. Alas too frequently the praise is bestowed upon the creature. " Lieutenant General Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson CSA, 31 July 1862.

Emme Toy Manchester Pups 2-2-18

Here is Carol with Esther's mom, Emerald Princess, "Emme". Her pups always have magnificent markings, which are so important for a "correct" Manchester Terrier.  Emme passed into the care of our Loving LORD in May,2023, we miss her very, much.
