In August 2010, a few good breeder, exhibitor, Judge, and Handler friends learned Wanda was very seriously ill. At that time the extent of the problem had yet to be learned, but it was obviously very serious. So unknown by Wanda until Saturday, Oct. 23rd, some of these friends wanted to recognize Wanda's outstanding lifetime record with Manchester Terriers. Instrumental in organizing this recognition was Patricia Hall, Dr. Tom McRaney, Gene Caron, and many others. Beverly Capstick was approached to design and create a hammered bronze award, and the magnificent result pictured above using Ch. Saint Lazar's Morganite as the model, was presented to Wanda at Noon, Oct. 23, 2010. Wanda wants everyone involved in this never before, and never to be done again, award to know how very, very appreciative and thankful she is to each and every one of you. GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR WONDERFUL FRIENDSHIP! Note: How very appropriate that Wanda learned moments before this award presentation that Ch. Saint Lazar Strikes Back HOF MSDY MCOM ROM - "Striker " - was again Stud Dog of the Year for a record shattering 3rd time!

Surrounded by her husband of 49 years, Charlie, our children, some Grandchildren, her 2 sisters, a Niece, and many, many friends, Wanda (and Charlie) shed tears as she accepts this tremendous emblem of friendship, love, competency, and respect. Wanda extends her most profound thanks to those who put this together,and to those whose names appear on the individual name plates. What fine memories these bring back.

For months it was pretty tough hiding all that was going on concerning this magnificent award. First we were not sure Wanda would even be alive. Then after GOD worked his miracle through Dr. David Kooby, we were not sure she would be healed sufficiently. But not to worry, GOD had his hand in this from beginning to end. The blond behind Wanda is our oldest child, Dawn. Our fine friends to my left are Madonna Lee, and Karen McRaney. Ginger Jones from Charlotte is in the left corner of the image, and that's our Grandson, Carter Walker, with the black & white striped tee shirt. Many others are out of the camera view. Our long time friends, Ginger & Toby Jones, came down from Charlotte, NC to visit and honor Wanda. Toby is holding a future Saint Lazar Champion, "Emerald" in his lap, while our niece, Beverly McCutcheon looks on. Beverly is Ann Laura's daughter, Wanda's oldest sister. Ginger & Toby own Jillian & Peaches who were in attendance. Jillian is the Dam of our Clarice, who is a Brood Bitch of the Year.

There was a lot of fun and joking around prior to the surprise Award given to Wanda. Debbie Henderson (L) got a bunch of photos and video of the event. Lani Minor, in the white T shirt is going to misbehave anywhere she is, but she has a heart of gold. She has just given Wanda a lovely gift, which she is in the process of unwrapping while Madonna Lee and Toby look on. Gene Caron provided the tents to shield some of us from the sun.

What do you think, did she like this gift or not? Thank you Lani Minor, you are a wonderful friend! Wanda has zero body fat due to her weight loss from the tumor, she would be cold in the Sahara Desert. So this is a welcome and useful gift. I assure you her delight is genuine, boy is it great to see her so happy.

Truth be told, there were some terrifically competent breeders, exhibitors, Judges, and Handlers who were part of Wanda's honor and award, and some were in attendance. We thank and acknowledge their contributions to the welfare of the Manchester Terrier, no one can go it alone in our breed. But, non the less, the record book speaks for itself in respect to Wanda's breeding success. We praise OUR LORD for the blessings over the forty past years. Gene Caron was at his best in the design and production of this great banner. Ch. Saint Lazar's Morganite is the headpiece.

Our eldest child, daughter Dawn Hunter, is to Wanda's right in this photo taken by Gene Caron on Friday. JoAnn, Ann, and Beverly live in our home town of Birmingham and they came for the 4 day events staying with Dawn and Son in Law, Kip Hunter (Holly's brother). That's BISS GCh Saint Lazar's Topaz in Wanda's arms, a fabulous example of Wanda's Planned Breeding expertise.

Thanks a million Kathy! I will thank Pat to my dying day for the wonderful work and leadership she did in putting the Award honor together for Wanda. Pat is being viciously attacked by the seven Nazis on the AMTC Board. I have been through this with those demons, and I know how devil wants a victory at the hands of his seven disciples. But GOD will give Pat the victory in this, and we will continue to give her our encouragement.
